The Pyramids!

Heather and I were both soooooo excited to go to the Pyramids and to ride a camel. I have had many opportunities to ride a camel in my travels and I have waited to do it with her!

In the morning with my new pink pillow that came with my sleeping bag lol.

First off we have a flight to Kenya tonight at 9:45 so we got a tour that included a trip to the Egyptian Museum. That is where we went first. It was so cool to learn about all the Mummy's and the mummification process and also to learn about and see what was in the pyramids.

They said no pictures so here are the one's I snuck in. These first one's are outside the museum.

Royal Mummy Room.

This political building right next to the Museum was recently burned and destroyed, freaking crazy!

The Cairo Tower.

We then headed to lunch and had some fantastic Egyptian food. We both loved it.

Our appetizer. The dip second to the right was amazing. I ate almost all of it lol.

I forgot to take a picture of my chicken, white rice and huge huge French fries. We also had a great conversation with our tour guide about Egypt and America. She is awesome!

Finally finally the Pyramids!!!!

We went inside and they allowed no cameras. Luckily my phone is my camera.

One thing that was interesting is that I never knew is the pyramids are solid except for small rooms where the King's tomb was and ventilation.

Here is where a tomb was.
It was way hot in the pyramid.

Time for the long awaited camel ride. Yay!!!

We went out in the middle of nowhere! So cool! Our two camel guys were arguing a lot. A kid and an middle ages guy. And they whip the crap out of the camels. The asked us if we wanted to go fast and if we were happy at least 15 times each. And yes of course I wanted to run the camel :)

Hello from Egypt!!!

What a ride! Too bad the camels get whipped to death and they are infested with flies.

I be chillin with my camel Denzy! Heather's camel was named Michael Douglas lol.

Going to the Sphinx now!

We finally decided to just chill and marvel at this wonder of the world.

This was the mummification room. Love this pic!

The Pyramids are so cool! And well worth the trip!

We then shopped for a while and learned how papyri paper is made. Way cool!

Off to the Airport! Going to Kenya!

That's a kid sitting on the tail gate of a truck on the highway. Traffic here is pretty nuts.

Our tour guide was sensational. So many are just ok. She rocked!

Heather is so cool too! Really traveling with no money right now. Just graduated and traveled to Europe with other friends before this.

Our Egypt experience was amazing.

Blog is completely up to date! Chilling in the Cairo Airport which is the worst organized airport ever.

I am beyond excited to fly to Kenya and volunteer as a teacher for a week and to do an African Safari! The trip is great and I am loving life out here.

Cute African kid! So stoked for Kenya!

I may not have electricity moving forward for 13 days. Staying in the Maasai Village with a family. No electricity we were told, how fun will this be!

The blog is here and up to date for now. Potentially bye bye for a while, don't go far though. Much love for Trippin with Trav! Peace!
