Hong Kong = New York + Los Angeles

I was stoked to get together with Darcy and have a full day to check out Hong Kong. After checking into my new hostel in the infamous Chungking Mansions we were off. We decided to do the hop on hop off bus tour.

First off I wanted to ship this home. You would not believe how big of difference this little bag makes!!!! A world of difference.

My flip flops also hurt my feet so we set off to find me some new ones.

Lots of people were just chilling playing games here.

On the bus!

Hong Kong is so cool! Tons of double decker buses and trolleys.

We stopped at Times Square and had some Sushi in a mall. Gosh I love Japanese food!

Then we set out for the south of Hong Kong island. This part was soooooo cool! The north part reminds me of New York. The south part of LA with a few beaches and the fact this is in a tropical climate. So i feel like Hong Kong is awesome vecause it is like New York City and LA.
Pics of the day!

Look at this city!

This was a water park. Also a huge dragon or horsefish thing on the mountain. Way cool cause that is thick!

Ok now look how cool the southern half is, on the other side of the mountains. I loved it!!!

Darcy laughed so hard because I said, "look, that building has a hole in it."

We stopped first at this place called Stanley. We heard the shopping was awesome here. We also made a stop down to the boardwalk and ocean. This felt like California to me.

The water was so nice and so warm!

We then headed to Aberdeen which I have read online is a cool place.

We took a little boat ride through the marina of boats. I particularly enjoyed this!

After a walk through Aberdeen we headed back for the main side of Hong Kong Island. This south side was a blast though and stayin the extra day was so worth it! If you come I highly recommend this side and at least a few days in Hong Kong. I was told one full day is sufficient for seeing Hong Kong, I disagree.

After a dinner and long and interesting chat with Darcy I sent her on her way and ran for the Ferry to Kowloon. I knew I would barely make it or miss it. It was so humid from the constant rain. I became drenched in sweat within minutes. I was running because I had a free ticket on the ferry and didn't have enough money to pay for the subway. After confusing the right port for the wrong one and running to the wrong one and then having to go back, luckily I made it just in time. I was drenched. And I don't sweat a lot at all. Final pics of Hong Kong. Wow I love this place!

Two girls at the ferry were nice enough to give me 10 cents or I might have died of thirst. What a view though. Of course it was raining this whole time. Soooooo much flippin rain.

Going to bed was easy but I was not thrilled about sharing a room with two others in this ghetto! our room had no AC. Horrible! I personally will not go without a private room anymore. I think it sucks sharing a room with strangers. I also got offered drugs at the Chungking Mansions. I heard that might happen. It's a ghetto for sure. Renown for a trashy part of town.

I climbed the 13 stories because the elevator line was too long. Picture from above.

The Hong Kong airport looks so new. I think it's too smart for its own good. They don't even give you your gate till 30-45 minutes before your flight leaves. You have to wait in a common area.

Peace out Hong Kong. Check out my post from a while back regarding my crazy flight from Hong Kong to Singapore and the dude next to me freaking out because his seat would not recline. Crazy people...
