Leaving Ireland

After the cliffs of Moher and dinner we came back and felt a lot of excitement with our bed and breakfast. In Ireland there are B&B's everywhere so here we just stopped at two and picked the second one.

This is a legit B&B where it feels like home and they cook you a homemade breakfast. I kept telling Heather, "my Mom is going to be so jealous of this, she would love this."

Here is the sitting room. We watched Titanic because he had 5 VHS videos and we had no idea what the others were. VHS! Remember those?

We put our orders in for breakfast the night before. When we came down to the dining room he showed us all the fruit, breads and cereal available. These guys don't mess around! With all fruits available I was in heaven! Love me some fruit!

This on the left is Irish Porridge. With some brown sugar it was tasty. See the breads up top?

I always eat local on my trip. My full Irish Breakfast. We got brown and light pudding (the round things that look like a brownie), bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, cow liver, potatoes, tomatoes (which surprisingly I have been eating lately) and toast.

Heather's French Toast. How lovely! Are you kidding me with that presentation?

Then they brought out this tray of beans, cucumbers and other things. Here is a picture of our table lol. This much food is nuts! Plus we have all the fruit and cereal area food! We did our best and like usual I ate like a champ.

View during breakfast.

Now it's time to leave back to Dublin.

Maurice and his wife are amazing hosts! We had an amazing experience here with them. They make you feel so at home in Ireland! They are really funny too.

There accent is hilarious. Very tough at times but they slow down for us. They also speak and taught us some native Irish Language. I think it's called Gaelic.

I do want to say of all the places I've been I cannot think of better and kinder people than Kenya and Ireland. I would throw Wales in there too. The Irish are incredible!!!! I met tons on my travels and knew they were fun, outgoing and real warm but now being in Ireland I have been blown away by there manners, friendliness and awesomeness.

One thing I have learned about Ireland is it is not the crazy drinking you imagine. Of course they love their beer and pubs, but it is really laid back here. It is actually quiet. The pubs are not bars like we know, they are usually restaurants with a bar and people eat at them a lot. We have ate at a lot! All the staff are always SO nice and friendly.

Alright moving on, but seriously, the people here are some of the best and I love them haha.

Heather with Maurice and his wife.

Now Maurice's wife, and I cannot remember her name name, she is an amazing cook. We told her how grateful we were and how good and she told us she teaches at a culinary school. So we got professional Irish cooking! They helped us map our course back to Dublin with a couple stops and we were off.

Passing the local golf course! Weather is awful but people are playing.

Want to see what all the Irish towns have looked like that we have seen? They are so cool! This picture below is the look of the city centre of almost everywhere!

Cool castles are all over Ireland.

Our B&B hosts told us to stop at this little town called Killaloe. This lake is beautiful and so is the town.

Lots of boats are near this little town. I was excited to lend a hand to a boat docking. I then talked to the Irish guy who was so cool. Told him about our boat and the weather and he said I was spoiled haha.

Here is the town.

We walked over to the town and found a bunch of pink bras hanging on the bridge. They were having a run to fight breast cancer.

The closest thing to action I've got in a while...

Leaving Killaloe. What a view from up top!

Easily one of the coolest pictures ever! Doing the jumping fighting Irish! Look at that balance and grace...

We then made the drive back to Dublin. Heather and I had some great conversations on our road trip. This drive home was no different. We had a great time together on this trip! Heather is a cool laid back girl and I'm grateful for her adventurous spirit to come on this part of my trip with me. Egypt, Kenya, Wales and Ireland! She had been in Europe for 3 weeks before as well with a girlfriend too. She is quite the traveler.

Back in Dublin! Walked around looking for Heather's traditional picture frame. Took a while but we got one.

The music scene here is cool. These guys had a good crowd. Not sure what the drummer is banging on...

The Temple Bar District. Again, even though people drink a lot, it is pretty quiet here. This is the most loud area and it's not that bad. Dublin was a surprise to me. It is really small and quiet for a city. Heather and I enjoyed Dublin.

Leaving Ireland was not the smoothest. We go to the parking garage to get the car but we can't get in and the gate is closed. Oh wow! After some help from our hostel we get in. We then cannot find a gas station on the way out of town towards the airport. Let's just say we barely made it on our flight! For real, it was tight. Lastly, I forgot to get a visa stamp at the check in desk so for a few minutes the guy told me I could not fly. He finally asked if I'd learned and let me fly. Phew.

The flight out. Ireland is an incredible place. Really happy Heater asked me to come here after Kenya. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been!

Heather and I settled up financially which was interesting, and then I escorted her as far as I could to her area of the airport as she is flying back to SLC today.

Now I'm in London for two nights and then I'm renting a car and driving in England and Scotland for 4 days. Not sure of my plan yet. Probably going to do some family history work. Peace!
